Dr. Mulhall answers: Many experts believe that there is some genetic and/or immunological facet to Peyronie’s disease. How else could we account for why some men get the condition and others do not? As with much else in Peyronie’s disease, there has been no real study of the association between immune conditions and Peyronie’s disease. However, there have been no reports of Peyronie’s disease rates being higher in men with such disorders. With appropriate funding such research would be possible.
