How Can We Help?
Dr. Levine answers: At this point there is no evidence that anyone is recommending a penile transplant. It is certainly a procedure which is technically possible, but with potential significant complications and the need for lifelong immunosuppression to reduce rejection. In men who have had penile amputation and replantation of their own penis, erectile dysfunction and scarring is common. Therefore, it does not appear to be a reasonable option for treatment of Peyronie’s disease at this time.
